SILK 4.0 non-absorbable braided silk suture.
It can generally be used for the approximation, retention in contact and/or convergence of soft tissues but its use is not indicated for the tissues of the central cardiovascular and central nervous system.

SILK 4.0 non-absorbable braided silk suture.
It can generally be used for the approximation, retention in contact and/or convergence of soft tissues but its use is not indicated for the tissues of the central cardiovascular and central nervous system.
Its application initially causes a small inflammatory reaction of the tissues, typical of the reaction to a foreign body followed by a gradual formation of a connective tissue capsule around the suture. Although silk sutures are not absorbable, they undergo gradual hydrolysis in vivo resulting in a complete loss of strength.
