Ethicon surgical non-absorbable sutures. They are sterile and consist of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene.
They are indicated for the retention in contact or the convergence of soft tissues even in ophthalmological operations, in operations on the cardiovascular and nervous system.
They cause a minimal inflammatory reaction in the tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.
They are not subject to degradation or weakening by the action of tissue enzymes.
As monofilament sutures they help prevent infection and have been used successfully in infected wounds to subsequently eliminate or minimize sinus formation and repulsion of sutures
They do not adhere to the tissues, resulting in their easy and painless removal.
